EIEIO Harmony
Yarn raised right here in Allegany County, NY. Pete MacDonald is a farmer and retired teacher who keeps a small flock of Dorset and Dorset cross sheep just a short drive away from our store. A man of many talents, he's been a member of our knitting group since 2004. Every year he alternates the mills to which he sends his fleece and this group comes from Bartlett Yarn in Harmony, ME.
Because this is a local yarn, we decided to name the yarns after local landmarks, images, and lore. For example, when most people imagine what the color tulip might look like they are likely to think of pinks, yellows, and other soft, spring colors. Our Tulip, however, is black and named in honor of our neighbor's glorious spring tulip garden which just happens to include a black tulip. Like its namesake, we want our yarn to be memorable! Barn is named for the naturally weathered wood siding of the barn at EIEIO, Magnolia is named for a neighbor's magnolia tree, and Foster Lake is named for a local man-made lake in our town. Just like the wool itself, every color in the Harmony line has a story.
This yarn is a heavy worsted and works best on metal needles and either a blunt or sharp point, depending on your preference. It's been used by our customers for years to make everything from Christmas stockings, felted hats, sweaters, and blankets.
2 ply, 210 yards
Hand wash, lay flat to dry
Because this yarn is not as heavily processed as other lines the fiber has natural lanolin and may sometimes contain bits of chaff.
We make every effort to present the yarn as accurately as possible. Please account for monitor display differences when choosing colors
